Which doors are certified
When buying fire doors, always use parts (doors, frames, glass and components) that are officially certified. The rules are set by certificate and fabricator must obey them in order to meet the standards.
Trusted certification groups in the UK include Certifire, BM–TRADA, IFC, Bluesky, and Warringtonfire. These organizations test fire doors and ensure they are made to the same high standards every time.
Certified fire doors have a label showing the fire rating, a certification number, and the manufacturer. You’ll also get a certificate explaining how to install the door properly, including details about hinges, locks, and seals.
If the door doesn’t have a label and certificate, it might not be a real fire door, and you can’t trust it to keep you safe in a fire.
