Jansen Economy 50 Fire Rated Steel Doors

E30 smoke and fire doors made from steel and stainless steel effectively prevent the spread of flames and smoke during a fire. The Jansen-Economy 50 E30 system enables the economical production of transparent building components, with a profile depth of just 50 mm for door frames and leaves. This system allows for the fabrication of flush-fitted doors with a continuous shadow joint on both sides. In the event of a fire, the low-flammability double rebate gasket ensures a secure and reliable barrier.

Technical Configuration
  • Anchored to masonry/concrete with M8 expanding steel anchors
  • Anchors at 800 mm nominal centers
  • Thermal expansion gap: 20 mm filled with mineral wool (60 kg/m³)
  • Max frame height: 4000 mm
  • Redesigned glazing beads (size, thickness, and fixing method remain as previously tested)
  • Supporting construction must meet or exceed the fire resistance of the system

  • Single-leaf doorsets:
    Max clear opening height: 2500 mm
    Max clear opening width: 1400 mm

  • Double-leaf doorsets:
    Max clear opening height: 2500 mm
    Max clear opening width: 2650 mm

LOCKING SYSTEMS

  • Single-leaf: Single-point latch

  • Double-leaf:

    • Active leaf: single or two-point latch
    • Passive leaf: spring-loaded shoot bolt (optional with two-point latch)

  • For 120-min doorsets:
    Two-point latch on active leaf is mandatory

  • All doorsets must latch automatically during fire conditions

HINGES
  • Minimum 2 hinges per leaf
  • Additional hinges allowed for heavy or high-traffic doors
  • Types permitted:
    • Surface-mounted weld-on
    • Surface-mounted screw-on
    • Concealed rebate fitted
    • Offset hinges with floor-mounted closers
  • Dog bolt required between hinge points
CLOSERS
  • Mandatory fire-rated door closers (surface-mounted or floor springs)
  • Double-leaf doorsets: must include a selector mechanism
